What is included in monthly accounting?
Complete ledger maintenance, bank and credit card reconciliation, monthly financial statements, and periodic reviews of how the business is performing. Everything is kept in the client dashboard, so your Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet are always current rather than something you wait for at year-end.
Should I choose monthly, quarterly, or yearly accounting?
It depends on how much activity the business has. Monthly suits businesses with payroll, sales tax, or steady transaction volume that need current numbers to make decisions. Quarterly works for lower-volume businesses that mainly need clean books for estimated taxes. Yearly is for businesses whose books only need to be brought together for the tax return. We recommend a cadence on the free call.
I own an LLC. Do I need an individual return or a business return?
A single-member LLC is reported on the owner's personal return (Schedule C), so that is an individual tax return. A multi-member LLC, partnership, S-Corporation, or C-Corporation files its own business return (Form 1065, 1120-S, or 1120), and each owner then reports their share on their personal return using a K-1. Most business owners need both.
Do you handle payroll for S-Corporation owners?
Yes. S-Corporation owner-employees generally have to pay themselves a reasonable salary through payroll, and our payroll filings service covers the withholdings, direct deposits, W-2s, and the quarterly and annual filings (Forms 941 and 940) that go with it.
I sell in more than one state. Can you handle the sales tax?
Yes. Sales tax filings cover state registration, calculating and collecting the right rate in each jurisdiction, filing on time, and keeping the records that prevent audit problems later.
Should I form an LLC or an S-Corporation?
There is no single right answer: it depends on your expected profit, whether you have partners, and how you plan to pay yourself. Our incorporation and advisory service starts with that conversation, then handles the Articles of Incorporation or Organization, the Operating Agreement, state filings, EIN registration, and the S-Corporation election if that is the right fit.
What does "starting at" mean on the prices?
The starting price covers a straightforward engagement. Extra entities, multiple states, high transaction volume, or catching up several months of books can add to it, and we quote the full amount before any work begins. For incorporation, state filing fees are charged by the state and are added to the listed price.
My books are months behind. Can you still help?
Yes. Catch-up work is quoted as part of the accounting engagement: we reconcile the missing months first so that the reports and the tax return are built on complete books, then keep them current from there.
